Hometown:

Major and Graduation Date:

Major Job/Position Responsibilities:

I am a Research Assistant for the insect resistant management and durability lab for DuPont Pioneer.  My responsibilities consist of assisting my teammates in data collection, sample processing, and field projects.  I also help maintain colonies of insects that are used for assays and other experiments.

What you like most about your job/position:

I have always been a “lab rat.”  To me, being able to come to work every day and complete my work with a microscope or in a lab setting is always exciting.  I like knowing that my work helps make agriculture more accessible for those in need and ultimately we help feed the world.

What advice would you give to current students:

Keep an open mind!  I arrived at college with a vision of what I wanted my college experience to be but along the way ISU presented me with a different opportunity and I took it.  That decision was the best decision I ever made.  Don’t be afraid to take chances, question things, and strive to become the best in your field.  Passion and dedication can go a long ways.
