I work with the other Innovation groups within Danisco, such as Ice Cream, Beverage, and Culinary, to help them determine the best flavor profile for the product they are developing. I determine the amount of flavor that should be used in a product or use existing flavors to develop new flavor concepts. For example, I can combine cherry and cake flavor in a chocolate pudding to come up with Black Forest Cake flavored pudding. I also work with newly created flavors and determine which food application area it works best in and at what level it should be used.
I love the creative aspect of my job. I have the ability to create new flavor concepts and to apply new and upcoming flavor trends to food. I also love having the opportunity to work with many different types of food, including yogurt, ice cream, beverages, soups, sauces, fruit snacks, and bread.
