I develop new products primarily for quick service restaurants, casual dining, and school food service. I also work on proactive innovation projects to increase and diversify Schwan's portfolio. Other responsibilities include researching and presenting trend information, providing culinary insight on potential new projects, and event catering.
My position allows me to utilize my culinary background while applying knowledge and techniques in food science to create innovative new products. Whether it is spending time researching the cuisines of Thailand for new flavors or working with our scientists to create a new appetizer, my position allows me the flexibility to continuously grow and presents me with new and exciting challenges daily.
The world is rapidly growing and the human race is living longer. Scientific research provides the breakthroughs to allow humanity to live and thrive while preserving our planet for future generations. The opportunities that present themselves with an education in Agricultural and Life Sciences are limitless. The need for qualified scientists in these industries is growing and with this growth comes the opportunity to be successful and develop technologies that can change the course of mankind. That seems like a world of unlimited opportunity and excitement to me!
