Title and Company:
Sales Consultant at Cargill
Alburnett, Iowa
Major and Graduation Date:
Animal Science, May 2005
Major Job/Position Responsibilities:

My role is to work with our Nutrena dealers to grow and develop their business. I spend most of my time in the country with producers creating value for their operation, whether it is looking at new solutions for what they are doing or solving problems by trying to improve their operation. I focus on looking at nutrients to make sure they are maximizing production and improving their profitability. My role also allows me to be creative and create unique solutions for our dealers as well. I help them with business planning, marketing campaigns and training programs.

What you like most about your job/position:

I really enjoy being creative and finding unique solutions to grow our customers business. It is such a rewarding feeling when I help a customer improve their business and profitability. I also enjoy the people and culture of Cargill. Everyone I work with lives by the same values of Respect for Others, Passion for Success, Integrity and Commitment to Serve. We all work as a team to achieve our customers’ goals and it is so much fun.

What advice would you give to current students:

My advice is to get up every morning doing something that you love. As long as you are happy and enjoying what you do it will help all aspects of your life. Not every day is going to be perfect but the challenging times will help you grow personally and professionally. Agriculture is a great industry to be involved with because of the people that we get to work with. People are always going to have to eat and put food on the table. All aspects of agriculture are working together to nourish the world.

Favorite ISU class
Reproduction with Dr. Youngs was my favorite class. I have a passion for cattle and learning how to improve our herd. It was a very fun class and educational at the same time. This is a class that I am still using today.
