Young Alum of the Month: Rachel Kula

Name:
Rachel Kula
Title and Company:
Data Coordinator II, Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Denver, CO
Hometown:
Springville, IA
Major and Graduation Date:
Biology, August 2014
Major Job/Position Responsibilities:

In order for clinical trials to conclude valid results, the data needs to be as complete and correct as possible.  My job is to be a liaison between clinic personnel and the sponsor of the study; to ensure the sponsor has completed data.  If the data isn’t complete, it is my responsibility to find that data and ensure the sponsor receives it.

What you like most about your job/position:

Cancer is such a frightful disease that affects so many people around the World.  Being able to work in clinical research is so rewarding.  Some of the most heart-warming experiences I’ve ever encountered are knowing you are at the forefront of the latest treatments and seeing and hearing success stories that come directly from your hard work.

What advice would you give to current students:

Don’t watch TV.  There are so many things to do on campus to keep you busy.  You won’t remember what television show you were watching in college but you will remember all the experiences and memories you made!
