What advice would you give to current students pursuing a career in Agriculture and Life Sciences:

  1. I can’t stress enough how important it is to obtain at least two or three internships while going to college.  Even if you find yourself in an internship you don’t necessarily enjoy, it can still provide value by improving your soft skills such as communication, time-management, leadership skills, etc.
  2. Be prepared for behavioral based questions in interviews.  Before I would interview, I would look up at least 10 behavioral based interview questions and write down my answers.  This helped me remember different scenarios I could base my answers on and better prepared me for the interview.
  3. Become a Peer Mentor.  You will not only get to know your professors/faculty better, but it will help build your key strengths too!
