Job Title & Company: Program Coordinator, Agriculture Future of America
Major Job/Position Responsibilities: I plan and execute AFA’s leader development programs for students and young professionals. I also manage AFA’s selection process, internal communications and social media efforts.
What you like most about your job/position? I like being able to work with young leaders through our various programs. I am fortunate that I work for an organization that cares about personal growth not only for their students but also for their staff. The skills I have gained through my time at AFA will help me succeed in future opportunities.
What advice would you give to current students pursuing a career in Agriculture and Life Sciences? Don’t be afraid to fail. In college I didn’t always try for certain jobs or take certain classes because I couldn’t guarantee myself that I would succeed. I learned that challenges, even when you fail, can be beneficial. You truly never know what you are capable of unless you try.
