Describe your internship responsibilities:

  • Analyze and compile data on foreign exchanges to determine strength of U.S. pork within foreign market
  • Create monthly industry trade data reports for distribution to senior leadership team and industry producers
  • Partner with fellow departments to provide additional perspective and insight of the industryJake Sterle

How has this experience impacted your future career plans?
Further secured a passion for the agriculture (specifically swine) industry.  Gained an understanding and passion for data analytics within trade data and export data.

What advice would you offer to other students seeking similar internships?
Take as many internships and experiences as you can while you are in college. Half of what you learn in college comes from experiences outside of the classroom so don’t be afraid to take a chance.
