Job Title and Company/Organization/School: Technical Engineer/Project Manager, Proctor & Gamble Beauty Care site, Iowa City, IA
Major Job/Position Responsibilities: In my role, I collaborate with various departments within the plant to execute projects on the beauty packaging lines. These projects encompass a range of activities, such as working with the Initiative Team to introduce new brands, bottle shapes, and components; enhancing existing equipment to address defects; and integrating new technologies into the production line.
For each project, I am responsible for resource allocation, team charter creation, vendor quotation procurement, funding package development for leadership approval, financial management including forecasting and expenditure tracking, technical documentation for change validation, and project execution.
In addition to my primary role, I lead the Hispanic Leadership Network (HLN) at P&G. HLN is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a culture that supports both personal and professional fulfillment for Hispanics/Latinos in Iowa City. We engage in various community-building programs annually to benefit not only those who share our cultural heritage but also the broader community in our area.
I also contribute to the Autonomous Maintenance pillar by overseeing the equipment ownership daily management system, ensuring our site standards align with corporate standards, and building capability among floor technicians. As a co-leader of the New Manager Forum, I guide new process engineers by hosting training sessions, coaching, and qualification processes. Additionally, I assist in recruiting new talent by organizing diverse teams for career fairs, hosting prospective hires for brunch and tours, and conducting interviews.
What do you like most about your job/position? The most fulfilling aspect of my role at P&G is the extensive growth opportunities the company provides. P&G is dedicated to fostering both professional and personal development, and I am deeply appreciative of this commitment.
